SoCo Spaces Austin

http://socospaces.com/

Why stay in a hotel when you can stay in a home? That's my motto. When looking for a place to stay in Austin, I came across SoCo Spaces. The Red Home we stayed in was super cute, and the owners were nice- and easy to work with. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again as well as recommend these properties to a friend.

Mabel's Lobster Claw Kennebunkport Maine

mabelslobster.com

All I can say is yum! Everything we had at Mabel's Lobster Claw was delicious. Our server was super nice and friendly. The food was so good.

How has no one mentioned the fried haddock sandwiches? I've seen them on the menus, but decided only to order one at Mabel's. it was ridiculously good!

Lobster Mac and Cheese: enough said!

Husband had the seafood Newburgh, he loved it.

Oh-- and the blueberry pie-- mmm!

Rococo's Ice Cream Kennebunkport Maine

Rococo's is known for their out of the ordinary ice cream flavors. It's right at the cusp of Dock Square, and it's definitely worth a try.

I had the spicy rocky road and sea salt and caramel.

Delish!

And they were really nice too.

David's KPT Kennebunkport

http://boathouseme.com/davids/

I read about David's being a fine dining establishment in Portland that had ventured over to Kennebunkport. The inn that I'm staying at had a blog post espousing the greatness of their half price happy hour. Well, we had to try it. The space was beautiful. The setting, perfect, right on the water.

The staff that greeted us didn't really care were we went, they motioned outside and told us to pick a spot on the deck. I guess they think happy hour guests are cheap? Well you offered the happy hour pricing!

The food was decent albeit small portions-- as to be expected.

The best thing ordered were the oysters. They really were fresh.

Also ordered:
Steak tartar - good (tiny)
Bruschetta - ok
Brie - small but good
Duck Slider - just a puff of focaccia with sliver of duck
Oysters - fab

The Clam Shack Kennebunkport Maine

http://theclamshack.net/

Since we were on a mission to try lobster rolls in Maine, we had to eat at the Clam Shack in Kennebunkport. The line wasn't as long as expected, but we went a bit before lunch. It was a lot longer by the time we finished. Even though, there was still plenty of outdoor indoor seating.

I didn't really like the lobster roll. The bun was too dense and the lobster was just plain. I don't really understand the draw here but to each their own. The full belly clam was good though.

Alisson's Kennebunkport Maine

Obviously you want to eat lobster rolls when you visit Maine. Alisson's was the first place we tried when we landed in Kennebunkport.

Lobster roll was good
Chowder was good
Service was polite but slow
Order came out fast

All in all I would say it is worth going. I didn't think it was the best thing I've ever had, but good enough.

Rosen House Inn Fort Worth

This is my second time to stay at the Rosen House Inn in Fort Worth. This time I booked the largest room, the Fairmont Suite. I love it. Spacious, comfy, huge bathroom. Definitely worth paying a visit.

It was great!

I loved everything about Ellerbe, from the ambiance (old gas station redone) to the food!

my husband and I both ordered fish dishes, and shared the charcuterie cheese platter. Yum!

Villa Del Mar Turks and Caicos

http://yourvilladelmar.com/

Let me just start by saying I loved Villas Del Mar. Every staff member there was super nice, friendly, and helpful. At the beach, the staff was wonderful. I didn't catch the name of the beach person but he was so helpful.

I booked VDM because when I travel I like space, and I also really like a kitchen and washer dryer. These are real luxuries for me. I reluctantly gave up beach front local for these amenities. But guess what! The beach was literally right across the road. It was so close that you could walk over in a minute! I'm so glad we stayed here. The hotel itself was beautiful and as were the grounds. They have a bar that's open until about 8 or 9, but there is no restaurant here. It would be nice if they served snacks, or at least had someone that could get food from the seaside cafe like at their beach section. This didn't bother me too much. They also served a continental breakfast every morning. Plenty of breads, pastries, fruits, cereals-- things like that.
This is place to relax. It's family oriented, so kids are around. It's not a party place, which is perfect for me! We stayed in a two bedroom unit, and it was spacious and nice.

I would stay here again!
